Jiu Jitsu Equipments

Following the rules is one of the most important lessons you need to learn if you want to go far in Jiu Jitsu. Aside from that, you also need to have the right equipments before you can play the sport. In Jiu Jitsu, regular practice is needed so that players can learn the various BJJ techniques and moves. Competitions are usually held to test the abilities of the students. You can’t start with the BJJ training if you don’t have the necessary equipments. These equipments are needed for your protection and that of your opponents.

‘Gi’ is the official uniform in Jiu Jitsu. You must have this uniform because if you don’t have any, you will not be allowed to join the training practices. The sleeves have a standard length and if you have plans of purchasing a ‘gi’, you should get it from one who has been making Gi for a long time.

Aside from the uniform, players should wear the appropriate feet protectors and gloves. Sparring is frequently done in the trainings to help players improve their fighting skills. Because of this, you will need a protective gear so that you won’t suffer from major damages. If you’re going to purchase gloves, you have to ensure that it has no plastic or metal. You see, plastics and metals can cause scratch and cuts; so try to double check.

There are various sports stores online and offline. These are the best places to shop for Gi and other Jiu Jitsu equipments because the seller knows a great deal of the sport. You can even ask your Jiu Jitsu instructor where to get the Gi and other protective equipments. By doing so, you can be sure that your uniform follows the standard size and length.

Players also need mouth guards just in case your opponent hits your jaws. Broken jaws can happen and so players must be prepared at all times. Men are also advised to wear caps to protect their groin. Women should wear a comfortable sports bra because there are times when the Gi loosens during a fight. This will prevent exposure of your breasts.

Kids and teens under sixteen years are required to wear helmets. Frontal strikes can happen and the helmet will protect the player’s forehead, eyes, and ears.

Aside from these equipments, you should also buy Jiu Jitsu videos and some notebooks for you to jot down some notes. You can also do some sparring at home to improve your fighting skills. Make sure that you have extra uniform so that you can keep them clean all the time. The equipments may cost you a few hundred dollars but it’s worth it. If you take good care of the Jiu Jitsu equipments, it will take some time before you will replace them.

Jiu Jitsu entails hard work and dedication. If you want to be a good fighter, you must have all the necessary equipments so that you can perform the various techniques properly. You should be ready to devote your precious time, effort, and a little bit of money to become good at Jiu Jitsu.

If you’re good at Jiu Jitsu, you can already join competitions. By this time, you will surely need the Jiu Jitsu equipments. Buy the necessary equipments now so that you can start with your Jiu Jitsu classes or training.
