Health and
Fitness: Look and Feel Better
Health and
fitness are two words that cause some people to shudder. For
most people, health and fitness bring up images of pricey
health clubs where everyone drinks disgusting protein shakes
and lifts heavy weights until they have no necks. The fact is
you don’t have to be a muscle-bound exercise addict to be
healthy and fit. Health and fitness can be attained by simply
eating better and exercising more.
Eating
Better
Eating better
doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite foods. To eat
better, you simply have to make better food choices. Instead of
eating a candy bar, try eating a bowl of fruit and nuts. Most
fruit is just as sweet as candy, but this way you’ll soothe
your sweet tooth, come away just as full, and you won’t feel
guilty afterwards. Another example could be, instead of butter,
use fat free margarine, or, instead of salad dressing, try
fat-free salad dressing. Small changes in your eating habits
aren’t difficult, and it won’t take long for you to see the
results. Your waist will shrink, you’ll feel better, and look
great.
Drink
More Water
Health and
fitness also requires you to drink more water. Experts say you
should drink six to eight glasses of water each day. When you
drink more water, you flush your body of sodium. This helps you
to retain less water over time, and that means, by drinking
more water, you’ll look better. This should be as good a reason
as any for someone looking to lose weight to drink more
water.
Exercise
More
Health and
fitness also requires you to exercise. You don’t need to commit
to long, tedious exercise routines to become more fit and
healthy. You can simply get more exercise in than you normally
would. For example, walk around the block, park further away
from your destination so you have to walk a little more to get
there, or simply do some sit ups or push ups every morning
first thing you wake up. Doing that last bit will wake you up
better than coffee would, and you’ll look and feel better over
time than if you just ate first thing upon
waking.
Health and
fitness are two words that should be a part of everyone’s
lifestyle. It doesn’t take drastic changes. Making health and
fitness part of your daily life requires small, subtle changes.
It won’t happen overnight and the results may be slow coming.
With enough patience and perseverance, though, you’ll look
better, feel better, and you’ll have the confidence in knowing
that you can do anything you put your mind
to.
